Sharda University, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development, greeted more than 20 Chinese students with a warm welcome on its campus in a welcome meeting.
HUANG ZHIGANG, the First Secretary-Educational Section, Chinese Embassy in India, also marked his presence on the occasion. The Chinese students attending this welcome meeting have taken admission in Sharda University’s different courses such as BBA, BCA to name a few. Also attending the meeting, from the University, were Mr. MP Jain (Advisor to Chancellor), Prof. Jagadeesh (Vice Chancellor), O.P. Bajpayee (Director - Academics), Prof. R.K. Verma (Dean – School of Business Studies), Sh. Avais Ahmed (Registrar) and Mr. Ashok Daryani (President, International Relations).
Giving the welcome address, Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Chancellor Sharda University, said, “Sharda University welcomes its new students coming from our neighboring country. These students are the special guests of not only this University but also this country. Sharda University is committed towards the creation of excellent educational opportunities for both Indian and international students. We promise to take care of the well being of these Chinese students with an equal zest as we do for our other international students. We wish them a successful career ahead.”
These new students have been facing communication problems owning to the language differences. Hence, to facilitate their studies and make them feel comfortable on the campus Sharda University will start special sessions for improving their fluency in English language. While interacting with the Chinese students Prof. Jagdeesh, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University said, “We extend a warm welcome to our guest students from China. We will ensure that you get here an excellent educational experience and a friendly environment on the campus so that you can study well. Our full support in terms of study, training and learning opportunities is with you. As a token of our friendship and to help you understand our culture better, we will also provide you special training sessions for improving your fluency in English language.”
Impressed by the warm welcome extended by the University and addressing the students, Mr. Huang Zhigang, First Secretary-Educational Section, Chinese Embassy in India, said, “We need to take initiatives like this to make a healthy and friendly environment between the two countries. We can achieve new heights by mutual support and that’s why we are planning to open a Chinese language centre here at Sharda University.” On receiving the assurances from the University officials and staff, the Chinese students were able to break the ice and interact well with them. They also met with the professors and many other faculty members of the University and cleared their doubts regarding their respective courses.
Sharda University, established as a state private university in Greater Noida through the U.P. State Legislative Act in 2009 and approved by UGC, is the only multi-discipline campus spread over 63 acres.
